Directors of “Moldcarton” and “Fabrica de Zahar Glodeni” discuss with PM

Prime Minister Vlad Filat invited the directors of “Moldcarton” and “Fabrica de Zahar Glodeni” to a discussion on February 23. The employees of the two companies are protesting in front of the Government, demanding that they be paid the overdue salaries for six months, Info-Prim Neo reports. “We want to be rewarded for our work. We are glad that Mister Filat came out and invited our managers to a discussion. We hope it will be productive,” said a worker of the Glodeni-based sugar factory, Veaceslav Evdochim. “We cannot live without salaries and a job. They heard us finally and we hope for a good end,” said Ion Lisenko, a worker of the cardboard factory “Moldcarton”. The over 500 employees of the sugar factory in Glodeni were sent on forced leave and had not received salaries since June. The staff of “Moldcarton” also weren't paid the salaries. The employees demand that the two companies be nationalized or be transferred to investors that would solve the existing problems. Earlier, the protesters discussed with Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, who promised the Government will intervene, but the situation remained unchanged.
