The Customs Service posted on its website the list of documents needed for customs clearance. The list includes the commercial and transport documents, certificates and licenses, and documents about restrictions on the taking of goods into or out of customs post and additional documents confirming the customs declaration presented by economic entities, IPN reports.
The Customs Check Division’s head Vitalie Stratan said the process will be facilitated by ensuring the transparency of the documents needed for clearance. This will be beneficial both to economic entities and to employees of customs services. The customs officers will be unable to ask for other documents than those included in the list.
Vitale Stratan noted that only three documents are needed in a classical transaction. These are: the commercial invoice needed by the customs bodies to determine the real value of the imported goods and taxes; the transport documents, depending on the used means of transport, which confirm the legality of the goods transportation operations, and the certificate allowing carrying out entrepreneurial activities.
“Other documents for customs check will be asked only if the economic entity wants to benefit from concessions, favorable tariff treatment or treatment based on a risk analysis, or if the goods are brought into the country not for being sold, but for increasing the registered capital of companies,” said Vitalie Stratan, adding that the companies involved in external trade should know what documents they need for the confirmation of customs statements and obtain them beforehand, including by applying online for them.
