The Embassy of the Czech Republic transmitted the Moldovan firefighters a container with a smoke room for training. The room simulates a closed area in fire where there are all the noxious factors typical of a fire. Deputy head of the Rescuers and Firefighters Division of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service Alexei Lavrienko has told IPN that the firefighters will be trained to overcome the most difficult situations that appear during fire such as high temperature, which in the given container varies from 300 to 900 degrees.

“We are preparing 15 trainers who come from the local subdivisions and will transmit the gained experience to the other employees of the local offices. Until the 10 local subdivisions do not have such containers, our colleagues will come to Chisinau for training,” said Alexei Lavrienko.

The container was set up by Moldovan specialists based on the specifications provided by the Czech side, within the development project “Improvement of operational capacities and professional abilities of firefighters in Moldova”, which is financed by the government of the Czech Republic through the Czech Development Agency. The cost of the project is US$385,000.
