Dorin Chirtoaca not investigated anymore

Mayor General of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca is no more under investigation. The prosecutors issued an ordinance to close the case as the mayor’s actions do not represent constitutive elements of an offence, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the press unit of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Dorin Chirtoaca had been investigated in two legal cases started against him after the April 6 – 7 events. Later, the two cases were merged into one. The mayor was suspected of usurpation of power and provocation of mass disorder. According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, after analyzing the evidence the prosecutors reached the conclusion that there are no pertinent, conclusive and useful proofs showing that Dorin Chirtoaca organized mass disorder or took steps to usurp the state power by violating the Constitution of Moldova.
