Dozens of hectares of stubble fields on fire

Firefighters sound the alarm. Dozes of hectares of stubble fields burned during the last 24 hours. The firefighters on Monday and on Tuesday night dealt with 63 such fires. Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that vegetation fires have been reported in all the country’s districts. In the municipality of Chisinau alone, the fires destroyed 32 hectares of stubble fields, Info-Prim Neo reports. In most of the cases, the people set themselves the fields on fire as they want to get rid of the stubble so as to cultivate the land. But they don’t realize the danger of fire extension. The firefighters call on the people not to set fire to the stubble as it burns quickly and the wind can extend the fire. Money is spent on every intervention. When the firefighting vehicles are involved in the extinguishing of vegetation fires, it may happen that no vehicle will be able to intervene in case of a serious fire in the hosing stock.
