The actions that must be taken to improve the situation in the media sector are contained in the draft roadmap worked out in the first Media Forum of Moldova, which is available at www.mediaforum.md/event, IPN reports.
The draft roadmap includes the main constraints that hamper the development of the media and a plan of action for removing these constraints and for creating the conditions needed to ensure sustainable development and build an environment of loyal competition and editorial independence of the media outlets. By November 12, journalists, managers and other employees of media outlets can submit proposals for improving the roadmap. These will be examined by the initiative group that consists of representatives of the forum organizers and trainers of the thematic workshops held within the first Media Forum.
The supplemented roadmap for developing the mass media in Moldova will be transmitted to the authorities, embassies and foreign representative offices and to international organizations that monitor the democratic development of Moldova.

The Media Forum 2015 was staged by the Press Council of Moldova in partnership with the Association of Independent Press, the Independent Journalism Center, the Electronic Press Association and the Young Journalist’s Center on October 27-28. It involved about 170 journalists, editors, media managers and other employees of media organizations and representatives of the authorities, embassies and foreign representative offices.
The event was financed by the Media Program of Soros Foundation Moldova and co-financed by the Council of Europe and East Europe Foundation with the resources provided by the Government of Sweden and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark.
