Drafting period to be extended

The campaign to call up young men for full-term and reduced military service will be extended. It will take place not in May-June and November-December as until now, but in April-July and October-January, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting amendments to the law on the military service approved by the Government. According to Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta, the district medical-military commissions do not manage to preliminarily examine the recruits. There is also not sufficient time for a thorough medical examination and other necessary tests. The minister also said that a longer drafting period will enable to better train the recruits.
