The norms of medically examining drivers, and trainees to get driver licenses, will become stricter, Info-Prim Neo reports. Health Minister Larisa Catrinici says the new norms match the European ones. But their being adopted is dictated not only by the need to harmonize the national law to the European standards, but by the situation roads, too. Only this year, over 1,000 Moldovans died in car crashes, as over 3,000 got injured. Children are also among them. Thus, the people having suffered a heart stroke will not be allowed to drive six months after getting cured. Interdictions are instituted for people with high blood pressure, with sight or locomotion problems, the people suffering from diabetes or dependent on insulin. These norms will be published in Monitirul Oficial (Official Gazette) to be known by drivers.
