The police officers will be empowered to check drivers and persons suspected of being under the influence of drugs and to also accompany them to a health facility and these will be unconditionally obliged to accept drug testing at the request of police employees. A draft decision in this regard was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.
According to Minister of Internal Affairs Adrian Efros, the draft decision will contribute to the fight against the use of narcotics and psychotropic substances, ensuring the protection of citizens by preventing and combating crimes committed under the influence of prohibited substances.
The General Police Inspectorate has 10 drug testing devices (Narcotester Dräger – Drug Test 5000).
