Anticorruption prosecutors discovered almost 21 grams of marijuana at the home of the deputy commissioner of Ialoveni district, who is suspected of passive corruption, Info-Prim Neo reports. Deputy head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office Viorel Morari told a news conference on October 7 that the chemical examination confirmed the substance was marijuana. On October 2, two persons informed the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office that three employees of the Ialoveni district police commissariat asked from them and received the equivalent in foreign currency of about 155,000 lei for not including them in a case of robbery as suspects. The same day, the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office started a legal case over passive corruption and ordered searches in the offices, homes and personal vehicles of the three employees of the Ialoveni commissariat. On October 4, the police arrested two of the suspects – the deputy commissioner and an inspector. The other inspector who is suspected of passive corruption is being looked for.
