The Ambassador of the Netherlands to Moldova, with residence in Kiev, Pieter Jan Wolthers is finishing his diplomatic mission in Moldova. On this occasion, he had a meeting with Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the presidential press service.
In the meeting, Nicolae Timofti reiterated the Moldovan authorities’ decision to continue the European integration course. He reminded that the Embassy of Moldova in The Hague will be opened in 2013 and this will enable to strengthen the Moldovan-Dutch cooperation, including in the context of the efforts made by Moldova to join the EU.
For his part, Ambassador Pieter Jan Wolthers assured Nicolae Timofti that the Netherlands will provide support to Moldova in the process of adjusting the national standards to the EU ones.
The Netherlands’ next Ambassador to Moldova will be based in Bucharest, not Kiev as until now.
