Georgian Dream coalition has won more than half of the popular vote in the Georgian parliamentary elections on Monday, an early vote count showed. Avtandil Mikatsadze, Georgia's acting charge d'affaires in Moldova, has told Info-Prim Neo that the staff of the Georgian consulate are waiting for official to be released by the Georgian central election commission. The Georgian parliament is composed of 150 members, 77 of whom are elected based on a proportional representation system on party tickets, and 73 are elected in uninominal constituencies. The election was disputed between President Mikheil Saakashvili's United National Movement and the opposition Georgian Dream alliance led by billionaire Bidzina Ivanishvili. No polling stations were opened for the election in Moldova. Official preliminary results are expected to be released in the afternoon.
