Eduard Ohladchuk dismissed as chief of General Staff

Eduard Ohladchuk was discharged from the post of chief of the General Staff of the National Army, commander of the National Army. The decree was signed by President Maia Sandu, IPN reports.

Last week, the Cabinet approved a draft decision by which it is proposed that the head of state should dismiss Eduard Ohladchuk from the position of chief of the General Staff of the National Army. Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense said that the military service contract signed with Eduard Ohladchuk, who was appointed in October 2021, expired.

The presidential decree enters into force on the date of signing, which is on September 26.
