The Rascani Prosecutor’s Office issued an order to arrest eight persons, among whom a minor, for illegal actions expressed by aggressive behavior towards the law enforcement bodies. These persons were among those several hundred protesters mobilized by the Party “Our Home Moldova” (Red Bloc), led by Grigore Petrenco, in the march “People’s Mobilization” staged on September 6, IPN reports.
The General Police Inspectorate said that seven persons were placed under arrest for 72 hours, while the minor – for 24 hours. Among those arrested are Grigore Petrenco and Mihail Amerberg. An investigation is under way to determine all the circumstances.
The police announced that initially, at about 2pm, there were arrested four persons who took part in the protest march organized by Grigore Petrenco. Several protesters tried to force their way into the Prosecutor General’s Office. The police intervened to stop the illegal actions of the protesters, who thus tried to destabilize public order. In the rucksacks of those arrested, there were found metallic chains and locks.
A criminal case will be started over this case for defiance of the legitimate demands of the representatives of the authorities and mass disorder and for acts of violence against persons. The culprits face a fine of 4,000 to 10,000 lei, 180 to 240 hours of community service or up to two years in jail.
Initially, the crowd came together in the square of the Academy of Sciences and then went on a march to the Prosecutor General’s Office, demanding holding accountable politician Vlad Plahotniuc ‘for the committed illegalities’.
