Eight-year-old drowns in rivulet near Hasnasenii-Mari village

A girl aged eight drowned in a rivulet near Hasnasenii-Mari village of Drochia district on Friday evening, Info-Prim Neo reports. Liliana Puscasu, spokeswoman for the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, said the girl came to the rivulet Cubolta together with her mother from Petreni village. It is not yet known how the girl drowned. Her body was found by villagers about an hour later. One day earlier, an eight-year-old boy from Casunca village, Floresti, also drowned in a rivulet. He fell off a bridge into the swirling water during a heavy rain and could not be saved. A man, 49, drowned in a lake near Varzaresti, Nisporeni. Locals took his body out. A number of 75 persons, 17 of whom children, have drowned in Moldova this year.
