The electoral technologies used by the contenders in the present election campaign do not differ from those employed in other campaigns, politologist Aurelia Peru stated for Info-Prim Neo. The election runners use the same black PR techniques against the political players. The ruling parties try to consolidate their positions by making known their deeds and facts, while the Opposition parties attempt to build up their image by criticizing the political opponents and presenting them in a bad light, the politologist said. According to Aurelia Peru, the political PR technologies are successfully used by three election runners. She said the PLDM's slogan “Moldova without Poverty” can be regarded as a well thought out PR action. The PCRM employs PR technologies in the Moldovan Village project. Though it was launched long before the election campaign, this project is developed namely in the context of the election campaign. The PDM carries out social actions and widely uses image transfer. The Democrats try to create a credible image among the voters who support the left-wing parties and who do not want to identify themselves with the PCRM. Aurelia Peru stressed that the PCRM also resorts to informational diversion. “The film about the breaking of the levee on the Prut broadcast by the Communists aimed to create a negative image for the ruling alliance,” she stated. The politologist believes the PL, especially its chairman Mihai Ghimpu, also used some of the best political PR technologies. The desecretization of the 5,000 files on politically repressed persons is one of the most excellent PR actions in the current election campaign, Aurelia Peru said. The European Action Movement (MAE) is also among the parties that widely use electoral technologies. It organizes pseudo-events such as the MAE Congress held in the height of the election campaign. As it is not very well-known, the party staged a number of actions in the previous campaign for the referendum, like Write Directly to the President, which was organized in the context of the forthcoming legislative elections. “We cannot say that the election contenders abuse electoral technologies. They rather use them efficiently and these technologies certainly have effects. Any information is an additional opinion in favor of the party,” said Aurelia Peru.
