The intention of assembling electric buses in Chisinau was communicated during Prime Minister Pavel Filip’s visit to the electric transport factory “Belkommunmash” in Minsk, Belarus, IPN reports, with reference to the Government’s press service.

The possibility of founding a joint Moldovan-Belarusian factory for assembling electric buses in Chisinau was discussed during the visit to the factory. “This is actually the public transport of the future,” stated Pavel Filip.

The Premier tested one of the electric buses that are not only ecological, but also economical. They are charged in five minutes after each four hours of travel. Twenty electric buses are now running in Minsk and 60 more will be put on routes next spring.

The units of transport produced by “Belkommunmash” are used in over 70 cities in Belarus, Moldova, Ukraine, Russia, Serbia, Kazakhstan, Latvia and South America.
