Employees of two companies protest and ask PM to intervene

Employees of the cardboard factory “Moldcarton” and sugar factory “Fabrica de Zahar Glodeni” made common cause and staged a joint protest in front of the Government on Tuesday morning. They came to ask Prime Minister Vlad Filat to intervene so that they get the overdue salaries and be reinstated in their jobs as they are now on forced leave, Info-Prim Neo reports. After chanting in front of the Government, the representatives of the sugar factory read a resolution, demanding that the former owner of the factory “Marr Sugar Moldova” pay the overdue salaries that exceed 2 million lei to the more than 500 employees. The employees of the two factories asked that “Moldcarton” and “Fabrica de Zahar Glodeni” be nationalized or be transferred to investors that could solve the problems faced by the two companies and ensure their functionality. The protesters said one month ago they discussed with Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar, who promised that the Government will intervene. However, the situation remained unchanged.
