The Ministry of the Environment calls on the people and the authorities not to set the dry leaves and vegetal waste in the fields on fire so as to prevent air pollution, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a communiqué, the Ministry says that the noxious substances emitted when the vegetal waste and leafage are burned is deposited in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, where the people perform intense activity, and as a result the children, elderly persons and people suffering from respiratory diseases as well as the fowl and animals are affected.
A serious consequence of incompletely burning vegetal and other waste is the appearance of such dangerous combinations as benzapiren, which is a powerful cancerous pollutant.
In order to avoid the pollution of the environment, the Ministry of the Environment recommends collecting the waste separately and burying the vegetal waste and the leaves. They will thus decay and become compost, which can be used as natural fertilizer for the farmland.
