A unique exhibition of vestiges of the National Opera House was opened today, May 13, at the institution. It contains costumes, decorative elements of lyrical and ballet performances and phonographs of Maria Biesu, Mihail Munteanu, Vladimir Dragos and Eleonora Constantinov, Info-Prim Neo reports. National Opera House director Valeria Seican said all the exhibited costumes and decorative elements form part of the theater's property that is over 50 years old. The costumes were wore by characters of the first performances staged at the Opera House – the opera “Grozovan” by David Ghershveld, the opera “The Tzar's Bride” by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and the ballet “The Broken Sword” by composer Eduard Lazarev. Valeria Seican said a parallel will be drawn between the past and the future. The opera “The Tzar's Bride” will be staged on October 1 -12 years after the first performance. The first opera in Moldova was put on in 1956, when the Moldovan public enjoyed the historical opera “Grozovan”. After the first performance, the Government issued a decree to found the National Opera House.
