The Ministry of Health is conducting an awareness-raising campaign on immunization entitled “Warned. Protected. Immunized”. It will encourage the promotion of immunization to prevent different diseases and to protect the population’s health throughout life. The event is staged as part of the European Immunization Week, IPN reports.

According to the Ministry’s press service, the goal of the campaign is to eliminate measles and rubella at regional levels and to maintain the status of country free from poliomyelitis at central level.

The Ministry of Health said different informative sessions and press club meetings will be organized this week. Information leaflets will be distributed in public places in Chisinau and in district centers. Social videos clips will be disseminated by different sources.

The Ministry noted that immunization is one of the most successful forms of intervention for preventing disease and premature death. In Moldova, the vaccination rate, except for cases of Rotavirus and pneumococcocal infections, is of about 90% in target groups of the population.
