European taxes for cars with foreign license plates

One of the provisions of the budgetary-fiscal policy for 2013 is a highway fee for cars with foreign license plates. Minister of Transports Anatol Salaru says that, although there is no fixed rate for the tax, it would not differ greatly from the European taxes on the matter, which are about €40 per year, reports Info-Prim Neo. The subject was discussed during a meeting of the Road Fund Council. Premier Vlad Filat, who attended the meeting, noted that it was an absolutely natural element to include. All drivers who use Moldovan roads should pay. Vlad Filat reminded that this procedure is practiced in all European countries, and Moldova must not delay its implementation.
