The legislative body of the Republic of Moldova for the first time will stage events dedicated to the Parliament’s Day, during May 20 – 23, 2017, IPN reports.
According to the legislature’s press service, the participation in the European Night of Museums is the first event of those planed. Two epoch cars from the Parliament’s garage will be exhibited for the first time in the yard of the National Museum of History on May 20. These will be later taken to the square before the Parliament Building.
On May 22, there will be staged a workshop in partnership with the Legal Resources Center, the Council for the Prevention and Elimination of Discrimination and Ensuring of Gender Equality and the Center for Continuous Electoral Training. Almost 80 young people registered to take part in the workshop that will center on a bill concerning the equality of chances and will include the simulation of a vote. Afterward, in the Parliament’s assembly hall, the young people will take part in a question and answer session with Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu.
An exhibition mounted on the occasion of the inauguration of the legislative body’s museum will be opened on the Parliament’s Day on May 23. Among the exhibits that are now in the museum are historic documents, protocol photos and presents received by MPs. The same day, students of the National Music Lyceum “Ciprian Porumbescu” will get the awards of the Speaker of Parliament.
The Parliament’s local information offices will stage the Open Doors Day at the offices in Edinet, Orhei, Leova, and Comrat.
