Another group of members of the United Moldova Party (PMU) headed by Ana Tcaci, who is vice president and founder of the party, Wednesday announced that they defected from the party and intend to join a new political organization. They said that only the ex-Communists who entered the PMU are to blame for the party's dismemberment, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“It was a fatal mistake to accept the former Communist lawmakers Vladimir Turcan, Victor Stepaniuc, Valentin Guznac and Ludmila Belcencova into United Moldova. A force that earlier represented the Communists and another one that pleads for democratic ideals cannot unite,” Ana Tcaci said.
According to the vice president of the PMU, those who left the party headed by Vladimir Voronin invaded United Moldova and took the party's leaders hostage.
Ana Tcaci said the ideas and program of the PMU were replaced by Communist ideologies and aggressive slogans, while the party's administration treats the members with disrespect.
Thus, 12 local organizations of the PMU decided to join the Moldovan National Party that is not well-known on the political arena. Several days ago, its name was changed into the Political Party for Moldova's Union. In a congress on March 13, Ana Tcaci was elected as leader of the party .
On March 15, a group of members of the PMU announced they decided to leave the party and join the Democratic Party (PDM).
Asked by the press if indeed about 4,500 members defected from the PMU to the PDM, as a heavyweight of the party, Eugen Nikiforchuc, announced Tuesday, Ana Tcaci said among those who left the party were the former Communists who joined the PMU not long ago and tried to come closer to the 'heads'.
