Former director and a former division head of Moldova’s Railways face up to 15 years in jail for embezzling €400,000, IPN reports.
Prosecutor Vitalie Busuioc, of the Transport Prosecutor’s Office, told a news conference that legal action was taken against the former director and his former inferior. It was established that about €400,000 was transferred from the company’s accounts to a foreign firm through Moldovan banks in 2011.
The ex-director is now abroad and the prosecution bodies are making effort to determine his whereabouts in order to issue him with a citation. If he refuses to appear in court, he will be put on the wanted list.
