The former head of the public association “Lăstăraș” Dorian Bogashevski, who is accused of appropriating money from parents of the children who attended kindergarten No. 199 “Lăstăraș” of Chisinau municipality, was given 30 days of preventive detention by the Buiucani branch of the Chisinau City Hall on October 26, IPN reports.
The defendant’s lawyer said he will change the court’s decision. Dorian Bogashevski refused to talk to the press. The prosecutor also didn’t want to provide details about this case.
According to the National Anticorruption Center, the man during September 2015 – August 2017, on the pretext of paying teachers of foreign languages, informatics, plastic arts, music and choreography working at the kindergarten, monthly collected by 1,200 to 1,400 lei from parents. The association’s fund monthly consisted of about 600,000 lei and the largest part of the money was embezzled by the head.
The man signed an agreement to lease out spaces of the kindergarten that were turned into private groups. Children’s parents were forced to pay additional amounts of money. If they refused, they were obliged to leave the kindergarten or the children were transferred to poorly outfitted groups.
