The extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council of Magistrates convoked on September 21 in connection with the raider attack on Moldova Agroindbank was adjourned for September 27 as the quorum was not present, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The meeting was to examine Prosecutor General Valeriu Zubco’s application to sue and hold accountable Bender Court of Appeals judge Nicolai Nogai, who legalized the related actions.
“The case of the raider attack on Moldova Agroindbank and the decision whereby this illegality was authorized by the judge of the Bender Court of Appeals are being examined. Given that the Supreme Court of Justice overturned the decision of the Bender Court of Appeals, there is a sensible reason to start legal action under Article 307 of the Penal Code of Moldova (passing of a sentence against the law). That’s why I submitted this application and asked examining it in an extraordinary meeting in order to hasten the process,” said Valeriu Zubco.
According to him, if judge Nicolai Nogai is found guilty, he will serve three to seven years in jail and will be deprived of the right to hold a public post for a period of five years.
