The executive of Gagauzia decided to offer 100 bonuses of 400 lei to the scholarships provided by the University of Comrat. A number of 75 scholars will get bonuses depending on the academic standing, while 25 scholarships will be offered to students from socially deprived families. The announcement was made by the Governor of Gagauzia Irina Vlah in a news conference, IPN reports.
“Unemployment is one of the main problems of the country, but when investors come it turns out that the workforce in our country is insufficient. There are few skilled workers and these are swiftly attracted by employers. The leaving by the young brains abroad is a big problem,” stated Irina Vlah.
The scholars will keep the main scholarship. Together with the bonus, the scholarships will range from 970 to 1,120 lei, depending on performance. Those entitled to social scholarships will receive over 700 lei, up from the current bursary of 400 lei.
Graduates from all over the country can apply for scholarships at the University of Comrat, not only those from Comrat. The scholars will be able to live in the University’s dorm.
