Experts who form part of the team of the former Georgian head of state Mikhail Saakashvili, who now serves as adviser to the Ukrainian President, are expected to come to Moldova in several weeks to share their experience in doing reforms and fighting corruption. In a press briefing, Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici said he agreed this fact during his visit to Kiev, IPN reports.

According to the Premier, it is impossible to develop the country as long as the level of corruption is high. Chiril Gaburici noted that as no important steps have been taken so far to fight corruption, he decided to put forward a number of initiatives to combat this phenomenon over the next three months.

The Government will suggest reforming the National Anticorruption Center, the National Integrity Commission and the police. The Prime Minister said the administration of these institutions must be chosen in a transparent way. Afterward, there will be set up an anticorruption council that will assess the work of the law enforcement bodies.

In another development, Chiril Gaburici said that in the meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Arseny Yatsenyuk, he asked that the export tax of 10% on the Moldovan products going to Ukraine should be annulled and he is waiting for an answer. Ukraine wants to close the segment of the border with the Transnistrian region for the traffic of people, but the Premier asked not taking such a decision even if he understands the neighboring country’s concern over the Russian military presence in Transnistria.
