Moldovan experts called on civil society, the intellectuality and the political elite to take steps to secure the pro-European vote in the time that remained until the parliamentary elections. The call was made in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel, IPN reports.

Political commentator Roman Mihaes said the situation is difficult and the choice is between peace and war. “The Russian anti-European propaganda is very powerful and cannot be eliminated by a simple statement. It’s a pity that the intellectuality and civil society do not become involved in this campaign. We must explain to the people how to make the correct choice. It’s clear that the current government made many mistakes, but we must choose the smallest evil,” he stated.

Sociologist Andrei Dumbraveanu said the Moldovans should unite around the ‘right to peace’. “The Romanians united around the right to vote and the fight against corruption. For Ukrainians, the reason for union was and remains the war in the east of the country. This war represents a threat to Moldova as well. That’s why the Moldovans must unite around the idea of ‘right to peace’. Our law enforcement bodies should do more to shed light on the lists of candidates and should prevent a representative of the underworld, who is financed by the Russian intelligence services and who did nothing for this country, to head a list,” he stated.

University professor Mihai Cernencu also called upon the intellectuality to become involved in the election campaign. “I do not want a war similar to that in Transnistria to repeat. The people must be aware that they have to choose between prosperity and war,” he noted.

The program’s permanent invitee, Romanian journalist Cristian Tabara said that he worked as a reporter during the conflict in former Yugoslavia and knows what a war is like “It’s impossible to describe the smell of gunpowder and dead bodies. I do not want the Moldovans to know such a smell. The Moldovans must understand that they should not play with fate. I call on them to vote for peace in the Novembers 30 elections,” he stated.
