The results of the audit performed by the foreign company that verified the justifiability of the higher electricity tariffs asked by the energy companies revealed no essential differences between these and the audit reports of the given companies. Thus, the audit company practically justified the costs indicated by RED Nord, RED Nord-Vest, Moldelectrica and Union Fenosa, IPN reports.

“The audit company analyzed and compared all the components of the electricity tariff in 2013-2015. There were identified small deviations, of 1 ban, but in this case Moldelectrica suggests decreasing the asked price by 1 ban,” said Oleg Popa, head of the Financial Division of Moldelectrica.

RED Nord-Vest technical director Daniel Chivriga stated that the costs and consumption volumes presented by his company were mainly confirmed. “The report of the audit company shows the distribution tariff, with deviations accumulated until January 1, 2015, should be 89.75 bani per kw/h, while the average supply tariff – 2.37 bani, which is by 0.45 bani higher than that calculated by RED Nord-Vest,” he stated.

Director of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (NARE) Sergiu Ciobanu said that 42 bani of the 52 bani by which 1 kw/h was proposed to be raised stemmed from the difference in the exchange rates, which does not depend on them.

The Agency initiated public hearings on the external audit reports on the new electric power tariffs asked earlier by RED Union Fenosa, Gas Natural Fenosa Furnizare Energie, RED Nord, RED Nord-Vest and Moldelectrica. The audit was asked by the NARE after the higher electricity tariffs were approved in July and then suspended.

A decision as to the possible modification of the tariffs wasn’t made public.
