FC Costuleni stays in National Division

FC Costuleni team will continue playing in the National Division of football in the next season. Although being last on the scoreboard, and up for demotion, the “lions” kept their spot in the upper division after a decision of the Executive Committee of the Football Association of Moldova (FMF), reports Info-Prim Neo.
Thus, the new edition of the championship will have the following teams at lineup: Sheriff Tiraspol, Dacia Chisinau, Zimbru Chisinau, Milsami Orhei, Olimpia Balti, FC Tiraspol, Iskra-Stal Ribnita, Nistru Otaci, Academia Chisinau, Rapid Ghidighici, Speranta Crihana Veche and FC Costuleni.
At the same meeting the Addendum to the Disciplinary Code of the FMF was signed, which deals with manipulating the results of a football match. In such situations, the FMF will apply fines from 20,000 to 200,000 lei, as well as suspensions, demotions; take away points and even the annulment of trophies.
The new competition season starts on July 8, with the Super cup of Moldova, which will clash champions Sheriff Tiraspol with the Cup holder Milsami Orhei. The National Division will start on July 14.
