Final selection for Bundestag scholarships takes place this month

The Embassy of Germany in Chisinau reiterated for students the conditions of applying for International Parliamentary Internships. The informative session was held at the Free International University of Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports. The program offers 120 politically interested young people from 28 countries from the U.S. and Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe the opportunity to gain first-hand experience of Germany’s system of parliamentary government during a 15-week work placement with a Member of the Bundestag. The applicants must be proficient in German and younger than 30. According to the Embassy, the aim of the program is to promote exchanges of ideas and values, contribute to the spread of the democratic practices in the participating countries, offer the possibility of better knowing the political developments and democratic decision-making processes. Moldova has participated in the program for four consecutive years. The deadlines for applications are usually in June, while the final selection takes place in September. The program is implemented under the auspices of the German Bundestag in cooperation with Berlin's three universities. The scholarship includes monthly stipend of €450, free accommodation, insurance and travel expenses.
