The police last week imposed fines totaling over 3 million lei. Of the total 552 contravention reports, 174 reports were drawn up for not respecting the regime and restrictions imposed by the authorities for the duration of the state of emergency. The data were presented by the deputy chief of the Chisinau Police Division Alexei Grosu in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, press officer of the Chisinau Police Division Natalia Stati said that only 42,000 lei of the total fines was paid. Some of the contravention reports were challenged in court, while others were paid during 72 hours and the sum in this case is lower.
The police last week also dealt with 84 offenses, most of which were thefts.
