Fire, smoke at Goian prison

Special detachments of the Penitentiary Institutions Department (DIP) staged an exercise on May 29 in Goieni village. They simulated a case of hostages taking act in the prison from that village. According to the scenario, a team of detainees from that prison have protested because the guards would have found forbidden objects in their possession. Several guards would have been taken as hostages by detainees. To settle the situation, special troops have been deployed. After several hours of captivity the hostages are set free without violence, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique by the DIP. The special troops staged other scenarios as well. The DIP's special detachment stages such training drills once a year to acquire practical skills in emergencies in prisons, reads the release.
