First case of hypothermia death reported in Chisinau

A man in his 40s was found dead in an unfinished construction on Trandafirilor St in Chisinau's Botanica district last night. The medical examiner established the man died of hypothermia. The identity of the man is not yet known, Tudor Capatana, spokesman for the General Police Commissariat, has told Info-Prim Neo. According to Capatana, the police are now determining whether the man had a permanent place of residence or not. “Judging by certain features, we can say that he is a homeless person. However, his clothes and several personal things make us doubt it. The medical examination showed that he was abusing alcohol,” Tudor Capatana said. This is the first case of death from hypothermia in Chisinau this year. Eleven such cases among homeless persons were recorded last winter, with the first case being reported in October.
