The Customs Service authored the first economic operator to use the global guarantee, which was constituted in the form of a commitment issued by a licensed insurance company, IPN reports.

Under the provisions of the new Customs Code, the Customs Service authorizes the use of the global guarantee to cover the amount of import duties corresponding to the customs debt in connection with two or more operations, declarations or customs procedures, based on international requirements.

The guarantee can be constituted by depositing the money in cash or by transfer to the treasury guarantee account, in national currency, by the commitment of a guarantor, or by another form of guarantee ensuring the payment of the amount of import or export duties corresponding to the customs debt and other payments.
