First Moldovan 3D cartoon will be ready in 2014

The first full-length 3D animated cartoon made in Moldova - “The Gypsy” - will be premiered in 2014. Producer Dmitri Voloshin told a news conference that it is a large-scale project that will improve Moldova's image abroad, Info-Prim Neo reports. The 20-minute cartoon will relate a funny story about the daily life of the Gipsies. “The scrip is interesting and will keep the viewers in suspense,” said scriptwriter Serghei Uzun. Roman Stirbu, deputy head of the Chisinau-based animation studio Simpals, said most of the persons who will be engaged in the project are from Moldova. Courses on 3D animated cartoons will be soon organized for them. The project “The Gypsy” was launched two years ago. Its budget is €5 million. The project will be financed by the Russian film studio STV.
