The first stage of the reconstruction works at the 400/110/35/10 kV Vulcanesti substation was completed. According to Moldelectrica, the 400 kV primary equipment dating from 1971 was dismantled and replaced. The compressed air circuit breakers were replaced with modern circuit breakers, as well as separators and transformers measuring current and voltage. Also, the scheme of primary connections was adjusted to ensure more reliable operation in the context of synchronization with ENTSO-E, IPN reports.
Moldelectrica noted that by replacing the primary equipment, the reliability of the electricity system of the Republic of Moldova will increase.
The works are part of component C of the program to rehabilitate the power transmission network Moldelectrica. Over the past two weeks, Moldelectrica’s staff had been working to reconnect the secondary command and control circuits to the newly installed primary equipment, adjust the equipment and reanchor the 400 kV Isaccea line to the new 400 kV line.
The second stage of works will take place this autumn.
