Five crossing points situated on the Moldovan-Ukrainian border were closed following the heavy snowfall that led to the appearance of snowdrifts, IPN reports.

Border Police press officer Daniela Manzatu said the border crossing points “Vulcanesti-Vinogradovka”, “Ceadir-Lunga-Maloiaroslavet, “Ceadir-Lunga-Novie Troiani”, “Cairaclia-Zaliznicinoe” and “Cismichioi-Dolinskoe” stopped work in the evening of January 29 after the access ways from Ukraine were blocked and ice bridges formed over the Nistru River.

The wharf-like border crossing points Cosauti-Iampoli and Soroca-Tekinovka were closed on January 28.

The Border Police warn the participants in the crossborder traffic who planned to cross the border through the mentioned checkpoints to use other customs posts located in the area.
