As many of the Moldovans intend to spend the coming five-day mini-vacation outside the country’s borders, the Border Police anticipate that the number of border crossings will rise significantly, IPN reports.

As usual, among the most popular border crossing points are Leușeni, Criva, Sculeni, Otaci, Giurgiulești-Reni and the Chisinau International Airport. At these frontier posts, the families with children and persons with special needs will be directed to free lanes, including those intended for the diplomatic corps, if need be.

Mobile teams outfitted with special control equipment were assigned to check travel documents.

An analysis of the statistics data for the previous years shows the periods before and after the holidays are the most crowded ones, while the rush-hour periods are those between 6am and 10am, between 3pm and 6pm and between 8pm and 11pm.

Citizens can obtain information about the documents needed to cross the state border through the agency of the helpline +373(22) 259-717.
