Fog has caused a number of flights to be canceled, diverted or delayed at the Chisinau Airport, IPN learned from sources in the company administrating the airport.
Galina Telpiz, department head at “Avia Invest” SRL, said some flights were canceled or diverted from last night.
Among the departing flights, those canceled included Venice/Marco Polo and Moscow/Domodedovo. The 1:20 Moscow/Sheremetyevo flight was delayed and rescheduled for 12:30. Also delayed were London/Stansted, by about four hours; Milan/Malpensa, by three hours; and Istanbul/Ataturk, by two hours.
Three arriving flights were canceled: Bucharest, Venice and Moscow/Demodedovo. Two other flights, Bologna and Rome, were diverted to Kiev. The flight Moscow/Sheremetyevo has been delayed by almost ten hours and is expected to land in Chisinau at 11:00.
Other delayed arrivals, expected in the afternoon, include Milan, Moscow/Demodedovo, Frankfurt, London, Istanbul and Turin.
