The authorities of Malta will provide a ship for evacuating foreign
citizens from Libya, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from
the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration
The Ministry was informed by the Foreign Ministry of Malta that the ship
MV Triva 1 will leave Libya’s capital Tripoli on August 21 at 09.00
(local time), while foreigners’ requests for evacuation will be dealt
with according to the first come, first served principle.
Moldova does not have an embassy in Libya and the authorities do not
know the exact number of Moldovans there. The Ministry calls upon the
people in Moldova to inform their relatives if they are in Libya and
want to return home.
The Moldovans in Libya can submit the evacuation requests by email -
joanna.g.pisani@gov.mt, mikela.fenech.pace@gov.mt, or by phone
+35679430801, and +35699822984.
The Ministry recommends the Moldovans to avoid traveling to Libya in the
period given the tense situation in this country. On April 4, 2011, two
Moldovan citizens were evacuated from Libya with the support of the
Ukrainian Foreign Ministry and the International Organization for
Migration.
