The foreign citizens involved in development or social assistance projects in Moldova, based on an international treaty, will be exempted from paying the state tax. A bill to this effect was endorsed by the Parliament’s commission for appointments and immunities, IPN reports.

According to the bill authors, it is about the state tax for services provided by the Moldovan authorities and public institutions. Deputy Minister of Justice Anatolie Munteanu said the courts of law make an exception.

The measure also applies to foreign companies and independent experts empowered or financed directly by implementing organizations, except for cases when the contracted experts are residents of the Republic of Moldova.

The exemption also refers to taxes or other payments for goods and vehicles delivered for offices and to amounts recouped as financing, guarantees and based on similar agreements.
