The foreigners with long-stay permits and the beneficiaries of international protection will be included in the list of payers of mandatory health insurance premiums in fixed amount. A draft decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet, IPN reports.

Under the draft decision, the National Employment Agency will provide services to foreigners without exception. For example, unemployment benefit will be paid to these on condition that they worked and have an insurance period in the state social insurance system of at least 12 months during the past 24 calendar days prior to the date of registration.

“The decision is designed to facilitate the process of integrating the foreigners who settled legally in the country and to realize their rights of access to the labor market and to medical services. Consequently, these will enjoy the same conditions as the citizens of the Republic of Moldova who are in identical situations and discriminatory approaches will be excluded,” said Minister of the Interior Ana Revenco. Also, the Ministry of the Interior will be able to initiate the process of reorganizing the authority responsible for foreigners, which will ensure the efficient management of migration processes and the implementation of public policies on migration and asylum.
