Four ambassadors to simultaneously cover other states

Four ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova will hold office of ambassador responsible for several countries simultaneously, as the Cabinet decided on February 23, IPN reports.

Moldova’s Ambassador to Romania Victor Chirilă will also serve as Ambassador to Serbia with residence in Bucharest. Ambassador to Japan Dumitru Socolan will also cover the Republic of Korea and will have his residence in Tokyo.

Ambassador to France Corina Călugăru was named ambassador to Monaco with residence in Paris and also permanent delegate to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and Moldova’s permanent representative to the Permanent Council of La Francophonie.

Ambassador to Spain Eugeniu Revenco will also serve as Ambassador to Andorra and as permanent representative to the World Tourism Organization with residence in Madrid.

The draft decrees are to be signed by President Maia Sandu.

In the same meeting, the Cabinet approved the resignation from the post of secretary of state at the Ministry of Finance tendered by Veronica Ursu.

The term in office as the Government’s deputy secretary general of Svetlana Țurcanu was extended until May 31.
