Four hundred volunteers will monitor secondary school graduation exams in eight districts of the country to prevent cheating. The initiative is part of a campaign to promote integrity in the 9th grade graduation exams, launched by the Ministry of Education and Research and the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, with the support of GIZ.

The volunteers will travel to one of the districts, Briceni, Cahul, Cantemir, Cimișlia, Drochia, Dubăsari, Rezina, or Soldănești on the days of the exams, June 3, June 6, June 10 and June 13. They will be present in the exam venues and will monitor all the activities going on.

“The Ministry of Education and Research has decided that this year in eight districts of the country we will have additional administrative measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the 9th grade graduation exams. The reasons that led us to do this are the disparities in some districts between the results of the secondary school graduation exams and the Baccalaureate exam. Afterwards, part of the tests will be examined centrally in such a way as to ensure that the verification is carried out properly”, said Minister Dan Perciun.

The director of the National Agency for Curriculum and Evaluation, Lilia Ivanov, communicated that during the months of April and May, trainings will be organized with volunteers, in which all the procedures for monitoring the exams will be discussed. “We urge all secondary school graduates to thoroughly prepare for the exams. Tests that were administered in previous sessions can be used for this purpose. They are posted on the ANCE page and are a valuable resource in preparing for the exams”, said Lilia Ivanov.

Those willing to join this initiative are encouraged to fill out a form and attend a training session.
