Four in ten TV channels monitored by the Independent Journalism Center during September 14-28 favored President Igor Dodon. The report shows President Dodon, who runs for a new term in office, was most often presented in a positive context, IPN reports.
On the other hand, three TV channels of the four broadcast a larger content about the activity of the Party of Action and Solidarity and its president Maia Sandu, presenting these primarily in a negative light.
The public TV channel Moldova 1 presented the aspirants for President or registered candidates neutrally, Igor Dodon being the only candidate who was presented in a favorable light. The private TV channel Primul în Moldova, NTV Moldova and Accent TV broadcast the largest content by which they promoted the government, covering primarily subjects with the participation of different representatives of the power. Igor Dodon appeared on these most often and in a primarily favorable light. These channels also reported massively on the activity of the PAS and Maia Sandu, but principally presented these in a negative light.
Televiziunea Centrală presented mainly the representatives of the Shor Party and its candidate for President Violeta Ivanov in a positive light. The other candidates and parties were presented rather neutrally.
Prime TV and Publika TV covered the activities of the candidates relatively neutrally, while of the state institutions neutrally and sometimes positively. The Shor Party was favored by Prime TV.
Jurnal TV, Pro TV and TV8 had a relatively balanced behavior, with a small part of the state institutions, parties and electoral contenders being presented in a negative light.
