Four persons get by seven years for forging dollars

Four persons who were members of an international group were sentenced to seven years in jail each for counterfeiting dollars. They were arrested in October 2010. Three of the suspects were prosecuted outside prison, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Anticorruption Center. After the Buiucani district court pronounced its judgment, the culprits were escorted to prison. They include a Bulgarian man, who was remanded in custody on October 29, 2010. The sentence can be appealed to the Chisinau Court of Appeals within 15 days. In October 2010, the members of the international group were arrested after they tried to put 61 500 forged dollars in circulation. The money was produced in Bulgaria. The Anticorruption Center established that almost 1 000 000 counterfeit dollars was to enter Moldova.
