Fourth Polish Film Festival to begin in Moldova

The most recent and famous Polish feature films will be presented during the fourth Polish Film Festival in Moldova. In Chisinau, the films will be screened at the Odeon Center of Culture during November 13-19, while in Balti – at the Patria Cinema during November 25-27, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Polish Embassy. The films that will be shown in Chisinau include: “Katyń” (2007), directed by Andrzej Wajda, “Tricks” (2007), directed by Andrzej Jakimowski, “The Reserve” (2007), directed by Łukasz Pałkowski, “It is not Yet Evening” (2008), directed by Jacek Bławut, “33 Life Scenes” ( 2008), directed by Małgorzata Szumowska, “Four Nights with Anna” (2008), directed by Jerzy Skolimowski, and “The Vagrants’ Stadium” ( 2008), directed by Kasia Adamik. The films will be subtitled in Romanian. In Balti, there will be screened only “Katyń”, “33 Life Scenes”, and “Four Nights with Anna”. They will be translated in Russian and Romanian. The official opening of the fourth Polish Film Festival in Moldova will take place in Chisinau on November 13, starting at 18 00. This year the festival will begin with “Katyń”, a film about four Polish families whose lives were marked irreversibly when a large number of Polish soldiers were taken hostage by Soviet troops and became victims of the brutal Stalinist regime in September 1939. Entrance to the showings is free of charge. As usual, the festival is organized by the Embassy of Poland in Chisinau in cooperation with the Polish Institute in Bucharest.
